The Benton County Republican Central Committee's annual Republican Picnic was held on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the beautiful farm of Les and Margaret Wheeler on Kiger Island in Corvallis, Oregon. What a wonderful evening! Our gratitude to the Wheeler's. Linn County Republicans joined us for the start of some future joint events.
Sadly, we report, that Margaret Wheeler passed away on May 7, 2009. Margaret and Les had been married since 1949 and celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on August 14, 2008, the day after this picnic. We offer our heartfelt condolences to Les Wheeler and the Wheeler family.
